This year’s AIA Middle East International Conference in Sharjah (UAE) looked into the future of the profession 30 years from now. Set up to advance the dialogue between architects and the community it was organized  as a series of open panel discussions and as one of the panel moderators I enjoyed two days filled with vivid, lucid and emotional conversations amongst our panelists, including Caroline Bos, Claudia Pasquero, Rachel Armstrong, Michel Pasquier, Ali Rahim, Raya Ani, Laila Kuznezov, and Patrik Schumacher. photo credits: (c) AIA middle east

Despite the unexpectedly low overall number of participants we had quite a few hours of passionate, insightful and rather enjoyable  conversation to identify the winning projects.
