10,958 days into the future. This year’s AIA Middle East International Conference in Sharjah (UAE) looked into the future of the profession 30 years from now. Set up to advance the dialogue between architects and the community it was organized as a series of open panel discussions and as one of the panel moderators I enjoyed two days filled with vivid, lucid and emotional conversations amongst our panelists, including Caroline Bos, Claudia Pasquero, Rachel Armstrong, Michel Pasquier, Ali Rahim, Raya Ani, Laila Kuznezov, and Patrik Schumacher. photo credits: (c) AIA middle east

AIA Middle East 2017 Design Awards

Happy and honoured to have been part of this year’s jury for the AIA Middle East Annual Design Awards, together with Nora Demeter, Matthew Dumich, Claudia Pasquero, and Peter Exley, who was heading the jury. Despite the unexpectedly low overall number of participants we had quite a few hours of passionate, insightful and rather enjoyable conversation to identify the winning projects.
